Cofferdock is an API with 43 tools that make real files and run real checks: images and PDFs from HTML, screenshots, QR codes, PDF editing, OCR, spreadsheets, validators and more. It works from n8n, Make and Zapier, from code, and from AI assistants. One account and one pool of credits for all of it, and every tool is its own: no reselling other companies' APIs.
This is how it got here, step by step.

The 43 tools today
The story so far
-
4 Jun
It starts as one tool
A small service that turns HTML into an image, called "html2img". The first job wasn't adding features: it was making it safe, so nobody could use it to reach private networks or guess other people's keys.
-
9 Jun
Real payments
Paid plans go live with Stripe: monthly or yearly, with a customer portal to change plan or card.
-
13 Jun
One account for every tool
The "passport": one login and one pool of credits that work for several tools, so each new tool doesn't need its own accounts and payments. The first one to use it: QR codes.
-
16 Jun
HTML to PDF and website screenshots
The two most natural neighbours of HTML to image. With these, the four "classic" tools are in place.
-
17 Jun
Sign in with Google, and no collapsing
Sign in with Google, a light and a dark theme, a mobile menu, and a waiting room so a spike of requests queues up instead of bringing the server down.
-
21–25 Jun
Try it before signing up
A live demo on the home page, the first API key created automatically on sign-up, and a warning before credits run out. The goal: fewer steps between curiosity and using it.
-
5 Jul
A blog with real guides
Step-by-step guides for n8n, Make and Zapier, and the site submitted to Google. "Uses" become "credits" everywhere, so the pricing reads the same on every page.
-
11 Jul
The site goes down
About 39 hours offline, from three causes chained together on the server. Fixed, with extra memory for the server and outside monitoring that warns me if it ever happens again.
-
28 Jul
It becomes Cofferdock
New name and new domain, cofferdock.com, plus a full redesign. The old addresses redirect, so automations people had already built kept working.
-
2 Aug
PDF tools
Merge, split, rotate, watermark, page numbers, fill forms and extract text. Until then Cofferdock could only create PDFs; now it can work on the ones people already have.
-
3 Aug
More PDF, files and images
Photos to PDF, PDF to images, metadata, add and remove passwords, ZIP files, and resizing and converting images. The image tool filled one of the "coming soon" slots that had been on the home page for a while.
-
6 Aug
Data to charts, and a shorter home page
A tool that turns data into a chart. With 19 tools, the home page list had grown too long, so it went back to the four classics plus a full catalogue page. Plus 12 articles answering real questions people search for.
-
7 Aug
Utilities
Check emails, phone numbers and IBANs, and generate IDs, hashes and clean URLs. Small checks that come up in a lot of automations.
-
13 Sep
The first paying customer
And the same day, a quiet security fix: password links meant to last one hour were staying valid until midnight. Found, fixed and covered by a test.

A plan to grow
A public API reference, an MCP server so AI assistants can use the tools, connectors built for n8n, Zapier, Activepieces and Pipedream (and a first draft for Make), extra credit packs and referrals. Every email to customers switches to English, because they come from everywhere.

One address per language
Google was reading every page in Spanish, even in English searches. Now each page has an English address and a Spanish one.

17 Sep
Cofferdock on Instagram
Cofferdock starts posting carousels on Instagram, in English, and their images are made with Cofferdock's own API. The tool that makes them grows into a project of its own.

Instant alerts and Claude
A new look matching the Instagram carousels, alerts on my phone for every payment and every outage, and "Sign in with Cofferdock" so Claude can use the tools without copying any key. Listed in the official MCP Registry.

No middleman
The idea that makes Cofferdock hard to copy: it owns every tool instead of reselling other companies' APIs. Under that rule came 18 more: validators, Markdown, barcodes, image watermarks, spreadsheets, photo data, collages, tables, OCR and PDF compression.

Part of the family
A redesign so Cofferdock looks like it comes from the same place as this site: the same pixel portrait, the same editorial style, and a signature in the footer, "A not everyone. project".
